Eric Cooney
President, Chief Executive Officer and Board Member
Eric Cooney is President and Chief Executive Officer of Internap Network Services Corp. (NASDAQ: INAP). Mr. Cooney has a track record of successfully leading technology companies and delivering shareholder value through a focus on long-term profitable growth. He also serves as a member on the Internap Board of Directors.
Mr. Cooney joined the digital video business of NDS, Inc. (a News Corporation company) in April 1997, which was acquired by TANDBERG Television in October 1999. He held a number of positions of increasing responsibility including VP/GM Americas and Chief Operating Officer, before assuming his role as President and CEO of TANDBERG Television in June 2003.
Under his leadership as CEO, TANDBERG Television successfully delivered shareholder value as the company increased in market value from approximately $100 million to more than $1.4 billion when TANDBERG Television was acquired by the Ericsson Group in 2007. This shareholder value was delivered through a combination of organic growth and successful strategic acquisitions.
Mr. Cooney continued to oversee the global operations of TANDBERG Television, which was expanded to create the Television business unit within the Ericsson Group, until leaving to become the Internap President/CEO in March 2009.
Prior to his career in the digital video industry, Mr. Cooney spent several years working in systems engineering and sales in the computer process control industry and also spent five years as a U.S. Naval officer. He received post graduate education in Nuclear Engineering from the U.S. Navy, an M.B.A. from the University of Southern California, and a B.S. from the University of Rochester.
George E. Kilguss III
Chief Financial Officer
George E. Kilguss III leads the Company’s Accounting, Finance, Purchasing, Financial Planning and Analysis functions. He has significant financial management, operations and development experience in publicly-traded and privately-held technology companies as well as the investment banking sector.
Prior to joining Internap, Mr. Kilguss served as the Chief Financial Officer of Towerstream Corporation, which delivers high speed wireless Internet access to businesses in major metropolitan markets using WiMAX microwave access. While at Towerstream, he orchestrated the company’s initial public offering, was integral to the development and execution of the strategic plan, and raised the necessary capital to enable the company to enter eight new markets with an enhanced product line and a new distribution model.
Before Towerstream, Mr. Kilguss was the Chief Financial Officer of Stratos Global Corporation in Toronto, Ontario, providing remote communications products including mobile and fixed satellite and microwave services to more than 20,000 customers worldwide.
Mr. Kilguss also has had hands-on experience with capital markets and a wide variety of merger and acquisition activities across industries. As a partner at Riparian Partners and a Vice President at Fleet Financial Group’s Investment Bank, he was active in all aspects of investment banking including valuations, mergers and acquisitions, private placements, and debt structuring.
Mr. Kilguss holds an MBA in finance and accounting from the University of Chicago’s Graduate School of Business in Chicago, Illinois, and a B.S. degree in Economics and Finance from the University of Hartford in West Hartford, Connecticut.
Paul Carmody
Sr. Vice President, Product Management and Business Development
Paul Carmody leads the Product Management and Business Development functions across the complete portfolio of Internap solutions, including Data Center Services and IP Services. He is a seasoned executive with extensive product management, development and strategy experience spanning key technology sectors including: IT Hosting, Software-as-a-Service and Enterprise Software. Mr. Carmody leads his teams in the creation, evaluation and execution of business plans that support Internap’s long-term profitable growth strategy.
Mr. Carmody was previously at Broadlane, one of the leading cost management companies in the healthcare industry, where he served as Senior Vice President of Marketing, Product & Strategy. At Broadlane, he led the conception and implementation of corporate strategy, contributing to the successful sale of the company in November 2010.
Prior to Broadlane, Mr. Carmody spent four years in key positions at Rackspace Hosting, including Vice President of Product Development. At Rackspace, he was a central player in developing product strategy, building the Product team and overseeing dozens of product launches as the company grew from less than $100 million to more than $600 million in annual revenue.
Mr. Carmody began his career as a consultant at McKinsey & Company and has also held positions at Closedloop Solutions, Lawson and Zenith Electronics.
Mr. Carmody holds an M.B.A. from Stanford University and an A.B. from Princeton University.
Josh Crowe
Sr. Vice President, Product Engineering
Josh Crowe leads Internap’s Product Engineering organization and is responsible for research and development of the company’s cloud hosting, enterprise IP and content delivery network services. Mr. Crowe has extensive technology leadership and strategy experience with particular emphasis in the areas of cloud computing, managed hosting and network services.
Mr. Crowe was most recently with Savvis, where he served as Vice President, Global Software Development for the network, managed services, security and cloud computing portfolio. In progressively senior positions during his six years with the company, Mr. Crowe’s responsibilities spanned various functions including product engineering, product management and software development. He and his teams released the company’s first cloud computing products, the success of which significantly contributed to CenturyLink’s $2.5B acquisition of Savvis, completed in July 2011.
Prior to Savvis, Mr. Crowe served as a regional vice president for Calence, a managed network services and consulting firm acquired by Insight in 2008. Before Calence, he led systems engineering teams for Cisco Systems and served as the Chief Information Officer for Noble & Associates. Mr. Crowe started his career in systems integration in the networking industry.
Mr. Crowe holds an M.B.A. and a Masters in Information Management from Washington University in St. Louis, as well as a B.A. from Missouri State University.
Raj Dutt
Sr. Vice President, Technology
Mr. Dutt is responsible for setting Internap’s technology strategy and vision. In this capacity, he identifies and architects the next-generation suite of technologies in support of the company’s hosting, enterprise IP and content delivery network services. Mr. Dutt has extensive experience in applying open-standards, modular components and automation to overcome the limitations of physical environments and build highly agile application ecosystems.
Mr. Dutt joined Internap through the company’s acquisition of Voxel in 2011, where he was Founder and Chief Technology Officer. He founded Voxel in 1999 with the vision of providing application infrastructure in the same way that great software developers write applications – through comprehensive systems design and execution. Mr. Dutt led the company as Chief Executive Officer from its inception until January 2011, when he successfully raised growth capital to support the business’s rapid market expansion and focused his efforts full-time on architecting the technology platforms that drive Voxel’s services. During his tenure as CEO, Mr. Dutt organically built Voxel from the ground up to 40 employees and approximately $10 million in revenue. His technology vision resulted in the launch of Voxel’s Managed Hosting, VoxCAST CDN and VoxCLOUD products.
Mr. Dutt studied Computer Science and Management at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Michael Higgins
Sr. Vice President, Data Center Services
Mr. Higgins leads the Product Management, Business Development and Data Center Services Design and Site Selection functions for Internap’s Data Center Services business. He brings to Internap a deep knowledge and 20+ years of extensive financial, product planning and leadership experience in the telecommunications industry.
Mr. Higgins came to Internap in January 2004 as Internap’s Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis. At Internap, he has also served as a board member for the Company’s joint venture with NTT of Japan. In late 2006, Mr. Higgins assumed the responsibility for growing and expanding Internap’s Colocation product offering.
Prior to Internap, Mr. Higgins held numerous leadership roles in Finance, Business Operations and Business Development over an 18-year career span while at MCI. His most recent role at MCI was Vice President of Business Operations. In this role he directed the Sales planning efforts for each of the business market segments. This included product planning, customer acquisition efforts, product line profitability and product integration efforts.
Mr. Higgins holds an M.B.A. in Finance from the University of Bridgeport and a B.S. in Accounting from Villanova University.
Mandira Mehra
Sr. Vice President, Marketing
Mandira Mehra leads the Company’s Marketing activities. She has extensive experience in marketing communications, public relations, branding, product marketing and strategic planning.
Prior to joining Internap, Ms. Mehra held several marketing leadership roles in the technology sector. Most recently, she served as Vice President of Marketing Communications, Solution Area TV at Ericsson, where she managed the global marketing program for the company’s television business unit. Ms. Mehra joined Ericsson through its acquisition of TANDBERG Television. During her tenure at TANDBERG Television, she led all marketing activities and oversaw a successful global brand migration.
Previously, Ms. Mehra was Vice President of Marketing and Strategy for GoldPocket Interactive, a digital media technology start-up acquired by TANDBERG Television in 2005. In this capacity, she led the company’s corporate and product marketing and strategic planning. Ms. Mehra also worked as a management consultant at Monitor Company advising senior executives at Fortune 500 companies on growth strategies.
Ms. Mehra holds a Masters degree from Harvard University and a B.A. from Williams College.
Bruce Meyer
Sr. Vice President, Human Resources
Mr. Meyer leads Internap’s Human Resources function. He has more than 35 years of global Human Resources experience in the areas of staffing and talent management, organization and leadership development, employee relations, compensation and benefits and Human Resources Information Systems. Mr. Meyer brings to Internap a proven track record for driving corporate culture change and organizational growth.
Prior to joining Internap in 2008, Mr. Meyer served as Vice President of Workforce Planning and Management at Orange Business Services, a communications services and solutions business, where he managed global workforce planning, forecasting and resourcing, and HR systems and reporting.
Previously, Mr. Meyer held HR leadership positions with several technology companies including Equant, Hayes Microcomputer Products and GENICOM Corporation, a spinoff of GE’s printer business. He began his career progressing through various Employee Relations and Human Resource Management assignments with General Electric over a 10 year-period.
Mr. Meyer holds a BA from the University of Georgia and served as an officer in the United States Air Force.
Steven A. Orchard
Sr. Vice President, Operations and Support
As Internap’s Senior Vice President, Operations and Customer Support, Steven Orchard is responsible for the company’s service delivery organization, data center, network, systems/CDN and Managed Hosting operations. He is also responsible for day-to-day customer support functions including the Network Operations Center and Customer Service Desk. Mr. Orchard’s technical organization supports all of the company’s IP service points, CDN points of presence, Managed Hosting sites, and company-operated data centers around the world.
Mr. Orchard has more than 15 years of experience in technology, systems and network design, data center operations and customer support. His organization is responsible for enhancing Internap’s strong service reputation through both service delivery and customer technical support. Since arriving at Internap in 1999, he has held a variety of roles with increasing responsibility, including Manager of IP Operations and Engineering, Director of Network Operations and Vice President of Operations. He was promoted to Senior Vice President, Operations and Customer Support in July 2009.
Prior to Internap, Mr. Orchard held several technical positions with companies including Oasis Systems and Codesic, Inc. Mr. Orchard holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Oregon in Eugene.
Tashia L. Rivard
Sr. Vice President, Legal Services and Corporate Secretary
Ms. Rivard brings more than 15 years of legal experience in both corporate and private practice to lead the Company’s Legal function. An expert in corporate governance and public securities law, Ms. Rivard helps to guide the development of policies and procedures to ensure the integrity of Internap’s business practices. She also has experience in mergers and acquisitions and employment law. Since joining Internap in 2008, Ms. Rivard has assumed increasing responsibility, serving first as Senior Corporate Counsel and most recently as Deputy General Counsel and Assistant Corporate Secretary.
Prior to joining Internap, Ms. Rivard was General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for Vyyo Inc. In that role, she was responsible for all legal support of the company, including public securities law, corporate governance, commercial contracts and strategic transactions, including several debt financings and a going private transaction. Earlier in her career, she was an attorney at Adaptec, Inc., and in private practice represented public and private clients in corporate and securities law, with an emphasis on corporate governance and mergers and acquisitions. Ms. Rivard holds a B.S. from Michigan State University and a J.D. from the Indiana University School of Law. Ms. Rivard is licensed to practice law in Georgia, California and Michigan.
Rich Shank
Sr. Vice President, Global Sales
Rich Shank leads Internap’s worldwide sales organization including sales operations, channels and strategy. In this role, he is responsible for expanding existing business relationships and attracting new clients across all market segments. Mr. Shank is an experienced sales leader with a history of delivering revenue growth from small, medium and Fortune 500 enterprise customers.
Prior to joining Internap, Mr. Shank served as Sales Center Vice President at AT&T, where his $300M enterprise sales division consistently led the corporation in new sales production and revenue growth. During his eight-year tenure, his team successfully capitalized on the industry shift from voice-centric to data-driven products and services, achieving annual revenue growth rates of up to 22% selling the full business-to-business portfolio, including Managed IP Services, Cloud Hosted Applications, Content Distribution and Network Security.
Before AT&T, Mr. Shank was General Manager and Director of Sales at XO Communications, where he launched the company’s presence in the Midwest, creating an EBITDA positive business in 18 months. Prior to XO, Mr. Shank led a sales team at Sprint to repeated top rankings in the medium and SMB markets. Mr. Shank also served as Vice President of Sales Operations for Carter’s, Inc., where he implemented best-in-class sales processes and tools across the $1 billion wholesale division.
Mr. Shank earned an M.B.A. from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame. He received post graduate Nuclear Engineering Certification from the United States Navy where he served as an Officer for five years.
