Process and Privacy

  • SOC2 – Internap’s data centers are reviewed by 3rd party auditors to ensure conformity with standardized SOC2 principle criteria. SOC2 replaces the previous SAS 70 standard. The new reports include new guidance specific to service organizations.
  • Sarbanes–Oxley Act (SOX) – as a publicly traded company, Internap must adhere to rules set forth by the Sarbanes Oxley Act of 2002. Not only do we publicly disclose our financial results as certified by officers of the company every quarter, we are required to regularly assess the effectiveness of internal controls. These requirements increase transparency to financial stability and help provide piece of mind for some of your most critical operations.
  • Safe Harbor – the European Commission’s Directive on Data Protection prohibits the transfer of personal data to non-European Union nations that do not meet the European “adequacy” requirement for privacy protection. Safe Harbor certification ensures that EU organizations know your company provides adequate privacy protection as defined by this Directive.
  • Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) – PCI DSS is set of requirements to protect cardholder data and the environments in which cardholder data is stored, processed or transmitted. Internap provides hosting environments that are PCI DSS compliant as certified yearly by a PCI Quality Assessor.

  • LEED, or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, is a building rating achievement given to facilities that meet the standards of the U.S. Green Building Council. Internap is a LEED Accredited Professional. Currently our Santa Clara facility is LEED Silver certified, and our Dallas facility is expected to achieve LEED Gold in Summer 2012.
  • Both our Santa Clara (first public data center in the U.S. to achieve this distinction) and Dallas facilities are Green Globe Award winners, an honor given by the Green Building Initiative. The Green Building Initiative is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to accelerate the adoption of building practices that result in energy-efficient, healthier and environmentally sustainable buildings by promoting credible and practical green building approaches for commercial construction.
  • More than 90% of Internap’s Dallas data center appliances, computers, monitors and printers are Energy Star Compliant. Energy Star is a joint program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the U.S. Department of Energy. Founded in 1992 for the purpose of saving money and protecting the environment through energy-efficient products and practices, the Energy Star label is now on major appliances, office equipment, lighting, home electronics and more.
