MRS includes device management, proactive troubleshooting and notification, plus support by Internap-trained NOC engineers. Unlike other providers that only offer MRS on provider-owned and supplied equipment, Internap manages customer-owned or leased CPE that conforms to base configuration requirements and a Cisco SMARTnet account. This allows Internap to open and monitor Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) cases assigned to Internap on a customer’s behalf. Further, each customer will receive proactive Cisco IOS upgrades to meet Internap MRS standards and will have access to BGP configuration assistance for multi-homed implementations.
Internap will provide configuration and implementation assistance to ensure that router configuration supports connectivity alternatives present in the customer’s solution. A certified Installation Engineer and/or NOC technician will perform all router configurations and IOS upgrades. Internap will provide SNMP, but the customer will not have logon access to the routers and will be required to provide a POTS line at each facility for remote management and troubleshooting.
