Hear from Stewart Chisam, VP of Game Operations at Hi-Rez Studios, a video game development company based in Atlanta, GA, as to why they came to Internap for tailored networking and server management solutions to address their latency concerns for their very fast-action online combat game.
Read excerpts from the video:
“We recently launched our first title it’s called Global Agenda. It’s a unique action-oriented game that combines multi-player shooter player game, like a Call of Duty or a Halo III, inside of a massive online world, sort of like a World of Warcraft. We’re bringing together tens of thousands of players from all over the world into a single gaming universe with very fast-action, fluid combat, in a way that really hasn’t been done before in our industry….
We first came to Internap very focused on the Network side. We knew that Internap excelled from a network perspective. We have a very fast-action combat game so you as a player, if you get even 1/100th millisecond of latency that can affect your game play and give you a different experience from someone that is not experiencing similar lag. So to us, the network was critical to us in enabling us to provide the type of player experience we wanted for our customers…
It’s very critical just having someone you know you can rely on when you need to. Our network is superb. We place high demands on the network and Internap’s quality of service there has definitely beaten anything else we’ve seen.”
